Climate Resilience & Renewable Energy
Powering campus classrooms and computer labs through solar energy and embedding environmental stewardship into daily student life.
All of the school's electricity is currently generated by solar panels on site. An upgrade to the system is needed as we plan for more facilities.
Our aim is energy self-sufficiency, supported by new boreholes for the farm.
Key actions
- Campus solar arrays: rooftop panels and battery storage for computer labs, libraries and dormitories.
- Clean energy independence: no reliance on fossil-fuel backup generators, and lower grid bills.
- Clean cooking and circular systems: moving the campus kitchen to clean-cooking technology, and composting organic waste into fertiliser.
- Eco-stewardship and waste management: campus recycling, tree planting, and plastic reduction campaigns.
Core impact metrics
- 100% blackout-proof solar power for ICT labs and evening study libraries
- 4.5 metric tons of carbon emissions offset each year through campus solar energy
- Zero downtime in academic schedules caused by power outages
