Organic Farm
Our 14-acre organic farm feeds students and staff, teaches practical skills, and raises revenue for the school.
The school’s organic farm has become an integral part of the project in recent years. It provides fresh produce for our school meals programme and home economics department, and it raises vital revenue for the charity by taking a more commercial approach to its land.
All crops are grown organically, and the farm attained organic certification in 2017. We have brought in experts from the Centre for No-Till Agriculture to advise on profitable and sustainable farming.
In the long term we hope to show that ethical, sustainable farming can give young people a livelihood at home, without needing to travel to cities for work.
